Police Warn Troublemakers Ahead Lagos Gov Poll

IGP Suleiman Abba Receiving Handing over Note From his Predecessor
The commissioner further said that the federal and state governments have adequately empowered the security agencies for the 2015 elections, in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police Suleiman Abba, and the security agencies will continue to work round the clock to ensure that the elections are violence-free in the state.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Kayode Aderanti, has warned troublemakers and thugs in the state to behave themselves properly ahead of the forth-coming governorship and House of Assembly elections slated to hold April 11 nationwide.
Aderanti told those bent on fomenting trouble during the elections that, like the presidential election, in which the police successfully ensured a violence-free exercise, troublemakers would be tackled by the security agencies.
Speaking during a one-day multi-stakeholders parley organized by Actionaid International, in conjunction with the International Press Centre, in Lagos, Aderanti praised the people of Lagos for supporting the security agencies in ensuring that the presidential election was credible, fair and violence-free.
Represented by Edward Egbuka, an assistant commissioner of police in charge of Area G Police Command, Ogba, Ikeja, the Lagos police boss admonished all troublemakers, before, during and after the forth-coming elections to have a change of heart or bear the weight of the law.
His words: “The joint security operatives for the 2015 elections duties have met to re-strategise security architecture and would not hesitate to deal decisively with any person or group of persons who are hell-bent in fomenting trouble in the forth-coming elections.”
The commissioner further said that the federal and state governments have adequately empowered the security agencies for the 2015 elections, in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police Suleiman Abba, and the security agencies will continue to work round the clock to ensure that the elections are violence-free in the state.
The Lagos CP further noted that the governorship election would be more challenging and personal, “but no form of violence and bloodbath will be allowed under any guise. Anybody caught with weapons during and after the election will be dealt with accordingly by the security agents.”
