UNILORIN VC assures Pharmacy students of course accreditation


Image result for unilorinThe Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali (OON), has assured the students of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the full accreditation of their courses by the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) and the National Universities Commission (NUC).
Prof. Ambali, who gave the assurance last Tuesday (March 24,2015) during a send-off ceremony organised by the Faculty in honour of its pioneer Dean, Prof. P. F. Olurinola and the immediate past Dean, Prof. (Mrs) Ibrahim Ajara, said, "In the next few months, the accreditation of the Faculty courses will be over." The event was organised in appreciation of the  services of the past Deans that helped in lifting the status of the Faculty.

Represented by the Director of Academic Planning (DAP), Prof. S. Kuranga, the Vice-Chancellor said that the University is presently going through adjustment of the Faculty in terms of structures and academic activities to meet the PSN and NUC specifications.
In his address, the chairman of the occasion, Asiwaju Joe Olarogun, said that the event was a step in the right direction, adding that the efforts by the past Deans must be duly appreciated.
In his response, Prof. Olurinola expressed appreciation to the University management, the Faculty staff and students for honouring him and the immediate past Dean, adding that the University remains one in his mind and shall continue to gear him to continue doing good work.
Also honoured on the occasion was a staff member of the Faculty, Mrs. Mary Adeleke, who was rated the Best Junior Staff of the month of March based on her dedication and commitment to duties.
The monthly Junior Staff Award is an initiative of the present Dean of the Faculty, Prof. A. Adimu, to encourage the junior staff to put in more efforts in the discharge of their duties.
