KWASU Sandwich Degree Admission 2015 is On


Kwara State University has announced the application for admission into the Sandwich Degree programmes for the 2015/2016 academic session.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

BUSINESS EDUCATION

a FIVE CONTACT SESSIONS

NCE with a minimum of pass grade or below 12 points, including a minimum of five credit passes at O’LevelGCE/SSCE/NECO/TCIINABTEB or equivalent to include English Language, Mathematics and any three relevant subjects at not more than two sittings. National Diploma with lower credit in Office Technology andManagement (Secretarial Studies) from a recognized institution with O’Level requirements. To qualify for Accounting option, students must have obtained credit pass in their O’Level result in Financial Accounting.

b. FOUR CONTACT SESSIONS

NCE Business Education in Accounting, Marketing or Office Education option (Sec. Studies) with at least credit pass or above 12 points, with at least five (5) O’level Credit in Mathematics, English and three other relevant subjects. HND in Accounting, Marketing, or Office Technology and Management withO’Level requirements. ND with Upper Credit with O’Level requirements. Any degree holder who may want to re-enroll for a degree in Business Education. Any other relevant qualification approved by the College of Education and Senate of KWASU

CHRISTIAN RELIGIOUS STUDIES

NCE with a minimum pass grade of 12 points in addition to O’Level Credit pass requirement in specified subject areas to be considered for the 4-year programe. NCE with a minimum pass grade of 9-11 points in addition to O’Level pass requirement in specified subject areas to be considered for the 5-year programme. Any other relevant qualification approved by the College of Education and the Senate of KWASU.

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

FIVE CONTACT SESSIONS (5 Year programme)

NCE (in relevant subjects) with a minimum of (pass) grade or below 12 points, including a minimum of five credit passes at O’LevelSSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB/ Grade II teacher certificate (Mathematics and English Language inclusive) at not more than two sittings. Diploma in Education with at least Merit pass from a recognized institution in addition to O’Level requirement specified in item 1

FOUR CONTACT SESSIONS (4-year programme)

Candidate must possess one of the following qualifications:

NCE (in any area) with at least credit grade or above 12 points, including a minimum of five credit passes at O’Level/SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB/Grade II teachers certificate (Mathematics and English Language inclusive) at not more than two sittings. HND in addition to O’Level requirement as in item 1 above. Any degree holder who wants to enroll for a degree in Early Childhood and Primary Education. Any other relevant qualification approved by the Senate of the Kwara State University.

ISLAMIC STUDIES

NCE with a minimum pass grade 12 points in addition to O’Level pass requirement in specified subject areas to be considered for the 4-year programme. NCE with a minimum pass grade of 9-11 points in addition to O’ Level pass requirement in specified subject areas to be considered for the 5-yearprogramme. Any other relevant qualification approved by the College of Education and the Senate of KWASU.

KINESIOLOGY HEALTH EDUCATION AND SPORTS ADMINISTRATION

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

A) FIVE CONTACT SESSIONS

Candidate must possessa minimum of five credit passes at O/LevelSSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB’ (Mathematics and English Language inclusive) at not more than two sittings. Emphasis is placed on any of the following subjects Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Food Technology and Health Science in addition to NCE (PHE) with a minimum of pass grade or below 12 points, including Nurses with single qualification (must have satisfied O/Levelrequirements as stipulated in ‘1’ above).

Diploma in Physics and Health Education with at least Merit pass from a recognized institution.
Graduate of a recognized College of Health Technology (must satisfy O’ level requirements as stipulated in ‘1’ above).
OND (in science subjects) from a recognized institution. Candidate must meet O’ Level requirements as stipulated in ‘1’ above

B) FOUR CONTACT SESSIONS

NCE (PHE or other Science courses) from a recognized institution with at least credit grade or 12 points and above, in addition to O/Level requirement in specified subjects’ area.
Nursing Certificate from Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria or its equivalent in addition to the O/Level requirements in the specified subjects.

HND (Science courses) in addition to O/Level requirements in specified subjects.
Any degree holder who want to re-enroll for a degree in Health Education and Sport Science.
Any other relevant qualification asapproved by the College of education and the senate of KWASU

MATHEMATICS EDUCATION

a. FIVE CONTACT SESSIONS

NCE with distinction, credit or merit in mathematics plus at least 5 relevant credits pass in 0/level SSCE/ GCE/ NECO/ NABTEB, including mathematics and English. Diploma in mathematics education with at least merit pass from a recognized institution in addition to O’level requirement stated above.

b. FOUR CONTACT SESSIONS

NCE (mathematics) from a recognized institution with at least credit grade with above 12points in addition to O’level requirements stated above. Any other degree or HND holders in any other science subjects, provided O’level requirement stated above is satisfied. Diploma (science education) from a recognized institution with at least credit grade or above12 points in addition to O’level requirement stated above.

SPECIAL EDUCATION

a. FIVE CONTACT SESSION

Candidate with NCE result (Special Education) with a minimum of pass grade below 12 points, including a minimum of five credits passes at O’LevelSSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEBMathematics and English language inclusive) at not more than two sittings. Emphasis is placed on any of the following subject: Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Health Science PLUS two of: Geography, Economics or Political Science. At least a pass in Mathematics is required for the programme.

Nurses with single qualification must have satisfied O’ level requirements as stipulated in ‘I’ above).
Diploma in Special Education with at least Merit pass from a recognized institution in addition to O’Level requirement in specified subjects above.

NCE (Special Education) from a recognized institution with at least credit grade or 12 points above,in addition to O’Level requirements in specified subject areas. Nursing Certificate from Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria or its equivalent in addition to the O’level requirements in the specified subjects. Any degree holder who may want to re-enroll for a degree in Special Education. Any other relevant qualification approved by the College of Education and the Senate of KWASU

Duration of Programmes

Minimum of 5 and maximum of 7 contact sessions for a five contact programme.
Minimum of 4 and Maximum of 6 contact sessions for a four contact programme.

The duration of programme offered is usually five (5) or four (4) long vocations, based on mode of entry.

TUITION FEE

A fee of N75, 000.00 to be paid into the Institute of Education account.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation is available on campus at the rate of N12, 000.00 for interested candidates.
