#Change is here#
Finally, the National Youth Service Corps has done the right thing and for the first time by obeying the regulations guiding public service procurement. This is of course courtesy of the new administration of President Buhari.
Up until this month, the procurement of kits for service members had been an exclusive and reserved right solely for some anonymous persons who, upon little investigation, will be seen to be retired generals, their wives, friends and family members. Over the years, NYSC administration has blatantly refused to comply with due process requirements on procurement and had ‘dashed’ the contract to lifelong ‘cult’ members and ‘cabals’.
Now, Nigerians have been given the chance to participate in this bid. This is a very welcome development; one that will definitely put smiles on the faces of young entrepreneurs, small and medium skilled enterprises, general suppliers and vendors.
