“As Shariah scholars, it is universally acknowledged that the status you
are occupying in the society is an exalted one, which is difficult to
handle without vast knowledge and sincerity of purpose. I believe your
choice as members of the council resulted from consideration of your
rich profiles, knowledge and individual contributions towards the
development of Islamic finance in your various capacities."

Prof. Ambali, who gave the assurance
last Tuesday (March 24,2015) during a send-off ceremony organised by the
Faculty in honour of its pioneer Dean, Prof. P. F. Olurinola and the
immediate past Dean, Prof. (Mrs) Ibrahim Ajara, said, "In the next few
months, the accreditation of the Faculty courses will be over." The
event was organised in appreciation of the services of the past Deans
that helped in lifting the status of the Faculty.
UNILORIN: Adewole tasks medical doctors on professional, academic qualifications
Prof. Adewole gave the advice last Wednesday (March 25, 2015) while delivering the Guest Lecture at the 31st Professional Initiation Ceremony for the Batch A of the 2015 University of Ilorin Medical Graduands. A total of 64 new medical doctors took the Hippocratic Oath on the occasion.
UNILORIN: Why we expanded our academic programmes–Ambali

Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali
(OON), has said that the University introduced some new academic
programmes as a way of increasing the access of Nigerian youths to
quality education.
Prof. Ambali, who made this known last
Monday (March 23, 2015) while receiving the members of a National
Universities Commission (NUC) Resource Verification Team to the proposed
Departments of Food Engineering and Computer Science Education, said,
“The expansion of our programmes is to accommodate more candidates and
to allow more admission seekers access to education”. He added that it
is very important to ensure that the Nigerian youths are adequately
educated.
Call Circular for 2015 needs assessment fund for staff training - Unilorin
Further
to the release of fund by the Federal Government under the Need
Assessment for Academic staff training, applications are hereby invited
from interested and qualified applicants for training and development
programmes.
The available categories of training are Ph.D and Master Programmes. However, interested applicants should note the following;
(a) Sponsorship for Ph.D courses is for a maximum duration of 3
years (for both local and Overseas), while Master’s degree programmes
are for a maximum period of 1 year (overseas) and 2 years (local)(b) The letter of admission should clearly indicate the following:

Who Can Apply For The Skusat Scholarship Program?
Currently, the ongoing application is open to only Nigerian students in the Undergraduate or Tertiary Level i.e students from Polytechnics, Universities & Colleges Of Education.
PS: University students applying for this program should either be in the 100Level, 200Level or 300Level academic year.

with the help of doctors she now weighs 26stones. It’s now left for her to
decide if she wants to live by watching her intake. And yes, God has given every

to her, Amber has a boyfriend, he is not just a boyfriend, but a very supportive

There was a minor smoke incident at the "E" arrival wing of
the International terminal of the Murtala Muhammed International
Airport, Lagos at about 1.13pm today, Wednesday , April 1st. The smoke was quickly traced to some offices at the E wing
on the ground floor of the terminal by a combined team of FAAN’s
electrical engineers and fire officers. Investigations has commenced to ascertain the cause of the fire.
The airport authority in a statement said the traveling public and other airport users were in no immediate danger as a result of the incident and neither did it affect flight operations at the terminal. More photos after the cut...

Nigerian swinger, 35 year old Edmund Echukwu (pictured left) died after drowning in
a swimming pool at a swingers' party in an upmarket village in the UK
last week. The father of three, was pulled from the pool of a £3million
mansion in Radlett, Hertfordshire where a James
Bond-themed sex party was happening last Friday night, March 27th.
Other guests at the party tried to revive him but were unable to. He was
pronounced dead at Watford
General Hospital hours later.
