36 Unilorin dons cited in Google scholars' database


Image result for UnilorinNo fewer than 36 lecturers and researchers of the University of Ilorin, who have distinguished themselves in their various fields, have been cited in the Google Scholar Citations (GSC) database for the third week of March 2015. The citation consists of a list of top 600 scientists in the country.
The aim of the ranking is to promote Web publication, support open access initiatives, electronic access to scientific publications and to other academic materials.
Those on the list include the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali (OON); the Dean of Students' Affairs, Prof. O.A. Omotesho and the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. S.F. Ambali. Others on the GSC database are Prof. Folahan A. Adekola, Prof.Isaac Olakanmi Abimbola and Prof. Adewale Moshood Belewu .

Also listed are Abdulhameed Badmos,Adeyinka Tella,Ali Abdullahi Arazeem, Gloria Otunola, Olayinka Ramota Karim, Levi Ikechukwu Nwankwo, Herath Madana Bandara, Alafara A. Baba, T.Komolafe, Toyin Salman, Babatunde Yahya, Wahab Salami, and Oyebisi Mistura Azeez.
Others included in the GSC database are, Baba Awoye Issa, Babatunde Raphael Olanrewaju, Bamidele Owoyele, Bashiru A Raji, Kayode John Oyewumi, Mubarak O. Ameen, Olayinka Buhari, Olubunmi Atolani, Olufemi Olumuyiwa Desalu, Oluwole Akinola, Opeyemi Eyitayo Ayinde, Raphael Babatunde, Saliu Akanni Ameen, Samson O. Owalude, T. O. Amusa and Hussein Kehinde Okoro.
The ranking, which was funded by Project ACUMEN, the European Commission, the 7th Framework Programme, the Capacities, Science in Society 2010 Grant Agreement 266632 and the CSIC Intramural 2013, “is a BETA Ranking of the scientists according to their declared (voluntarily) presence in the Google Scholar Citations database”.
Scholars were ranked first by h-index in decreasing order and, when ties appear, then by the total number of citations as a secondary criterion.
