Ahead of Cesc Fabregas’ return to the Emirates since he left Arsenal for Barcelona in 2011, Arsene Wenger has finally opened up, admitting he regrets the departure of Fabregas.
Fabregas would come to the Emirates, wearing the blue of league leaders Chelsea as Arsenal hope to derail the west London club’s campaign. Most of the media attention has however been directed on Fabregas who returns to the Emirates after departing for Barcelona with the hopes of winning more trophies. Wenger told reprters that he never wanted the midfielder to leave but the Spaniards mind was made up and he had to let him go or risk losing him for free “The regret I have is that he wanted to leave here. This club and myself had a very positive influence on Cesc’s life.” Wenger was quoted telling reporters.
