Lagos State was NEVER a federal capital territory.Less than 10% of the State was. Lagos State was created in 1967 by merging the capital or Lagos Municipality as it then was with parts of the Western Region(Badagry, Ikeja, Ikorodu and Epe DIVISIONS)

There is Sokoto and There is Sokoto State they are not the same thing
There is Kaduna and there is Kaduna Statethey are not the same thing
