Don't let us down, Olatunji tells new technologists - Unilorin News


Image result for UnilorinThe Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Technology and Innovations (RTI), University of Ilorin, Prof. Gabriel Olatunji, has charged newly recruited the technologists to justify the confidence reposed in them by the University.
Prof. Olatunji made the call last Monday (April 13, 2015) while declaring open the two-weeks intensive training organised for the technologists by the Centre for Research Development and In- House Training (CREDIT).
The Deputy Vice- Chancellor, who represented the Vice- Chancellor, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali (OON), on the occasion, said, “Open your heart. Show and demonstrate interest in what you will be taught. Go home and revise what you are taught and assimilate properly before the following day."

While appreciating the Director of CREDIT for the job excellently done, Prof. Olatunji said that the University would continue to support the Centre, as its work has proved to be effective and rewarding.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor pointed out that the University is assured that the new technologists “are trainable and talented", urging them to rediscover themselves.
Urging them to make their marks in the service to the University, Prof. Olatunji said that there is no room for "half-half" commitment.
In her remarks, the Director of CREDIT, Prof. (Mrs.) A. T. Oladiji, thanked the University Administration under the leadership of the Vice- Chancellor, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali (OON), for identifying the need for the training of new staff members and providing the necessary resources required to facilitate the training.
Prof. Oladiji said, "The University of Ilorin makes provision for training and retraining yearly in line with best practices worldwide. In the last one year, many staff of the University have benefitted from at least one form of training. It is, therefore, not surprising that the University has been consistently rated as one of the topmost Universities in Nigeria and one of the best in Africa."
