Akwa Ibom State University - AKSU VC Handing-over ceremony Report

The new Acting Vice-Chancellor of Akwa Ibom State University, Professor Eno J. Ibanga has said he will consolidate on the gains of the recent accreditation of programmes in the University by collaborating with the Governing Council to erect more structures while upgrading and furnishing existing ones.

Speaking during the handing-over ceremony by the former Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibanga posited that having passed through the tutelage of many Vice-Chancellors, he was poised to assume the position which he declared was a responsibility given by God.
He commended Professor Sunday Petters for handing over exuberantly and joyfully and pledged to uphold the confidence reposed on him by the State Government.
Professor Ibanga said he will be sincere, straightforward and open in his administration of Akwa Ibom State University, calling on all persons with creative ideas to bring them to bear.
Earlier, the Pioneer Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sunday Petters, expressed gratitude to God for a successful completion of his tenure.
He disclosed that while there was no campus during his take over, he was handing over two campuses of the University with thorough bred academicians and NUC accredited programmes.
He said the University License, Academic Brief, Operating Law and Master Plan were instruments which will guide the new Acting Vice-Chancellor in the operations of the institution and urged him to take good care of the staff and students he was leaving.
Highlight of the ceremony was the symbolic handing over of the university instruments and the Vice-Chancellor's Office of the new Acting Vice-Chancellor.
The ceremony was witnessed by the Management, Deans and Directors in the University.
